The most recent example is our story about the property tax assessment of our local businesses that resulted in a projected tax spike of 200–300%. The article was read by the Communications Director in the Cook County Assessor's Office, and he reached out to the Director of our Chamber of Commerce. They set up a meeting with local business owners. Our local government then prepared a joint resolution with other taxing bodies. The Cook County Communications Director attended meetings of those taxing bodies and let them know they were being heard. He then reaching out to us for an interview.
